If sipping margaritas, listening to live music and eating tacos is your kind of thing, you’ll love the Annual Arizona Taco Festival. A runaway hit attracting people from all over the country for the last ten years; the Annual Arizona Taco Festival is going all out to celebrate its 10th anniversary big this year. The event will run from October 12th to October 13th, and it’s going to be even bigger and better than the previous decade of tacos!

Set over 300 acres at WestWorld of Scottsdale, The Annual Arizona Taco Festival is sponsored by the City of Scottsdale and will feature more than fifty taco teams competing against each other for a grand prize of $10,000 and taco bragging rights! Attendees can enjoy steak, pork, seafood, and even vegan tacos all for the low cost of $3.

Festivities include: live music by local bands and DJ’s, a wrestling show, a taco-inspired “culture tent,” featuring fashion and art, an expo of hot sauces to sample and purchase, a tequila expo with over 100 types of tequila, and a VIP cantina private catering event with Chef Michael DeMaria of M Culinary.

There will also be all of Arizona’s favorite taco entertainment returning, such as photo booths and interactive photo experiences, a Hot Chili Pepper eating contest featuring five rounds of fiery peppers, a taco eating contest, and then everybody’s favorite chihuahua beauty pageant — featuring 20 of the most adorable chihuahuas modeling haute couture.

Plus, if you love your significant other as much as your love tacos, the Annual Arizona Taco Festival is giving one lucky couple the chance to win a Day of the Dead wedding ceremony! The lucky couple will win the use of a licensed officiant to perform their service, 10 VIP Cantina and Tequila Expo passes for the wedding party, as well as a hairstylist and make-up artist to ensure you’re Day of the Dead ready.

Be sure also to check out the lead-up events before the big weekend, which are sure to get you in the mood to party. With boutique events such as Chef Beau Macmillan’s Taco Loco Battle and a Margarita Wars competition with some of the Valley’s top mixologists, there is even more tex-mex fun going on.

The festivities start at 11 a.m. on Saturday and runs through until 7 p.m., to begin again on Sunday. General admission costs $10 per ticket for the first 2019 attendees, in celebration of the festivals 10th anniversary, after which point they increase to $15 per ticket. Military members receive a 50% discount off their ticket.

If you’re interested in the exclusive VIP Cantina experience, which also features various private bars and entertainment, admittance is $135 per day. All food and beverages are sold separately, however, remember to bring your credit card, because the festival is an entirely cashless event.
