Sometimes, you just want to laugh. Well, for residents of Phoenix and surrounding areas like Scottsdale, AZ, there are plenty of upcoming shows that will make you do just that. Service as the central hotspot for comedy in the Southwest, Phoenix has plenty of hilarious folks coming through this summer to fill your nights with fun and laughter.

Here are 5 of the funniest people coming through Phoenix, AZ this summer.

Chelsea Handler

Chelsea Handler

Friday, May 31st

Comerica Theater

Chelsea Handler is primarily known for her frank, unapologetic takes on relationships, men and women, and sexuality. With her numerous books and interview shows, she has shocked and entertained audiences for years with her take-no-prisoners style of comedy. This may, she’ll be showing up at the Comerica Theater to support her “Sit-Down Comedy Tour” and her new book, Life Will Be the Death of Me. Each ticket comes with a copy of the book, to be distributed at the show.

Jill Kimmel

Friday, June 21st

Irene’s Tap Room

Jill Kimmel is an up and coming comic. A mother with a lot of humor and wisdom to share, Jill offers deadpan humor and frank, emotionally open political sentiments, Kimmel is coming to Phoenix in June as part of the Jill Kimmel LIVE! Tour. Four comics will entertain the audience over the course of the evening. Proceeds from the show go towards The Farm Rescue, a local Mesa, AZ animal rescue.

Jay Leno

Jay Leno

Friday, June 21st

Talking Stick Resort

Speaking of Jay Leno, the legend of Late Night is coming to the Talking Stick Resort in June as well. Jay Leno served as the host of The Tonight Show for decades, taking over for the legend Johnny Carson. But before this, he was a seasoned stand-up comic that focused on the daily follies and foibles that we work through every single day. If you want a wry take on the little things of life, then check out Jay Leno on June 21st.

Kathleen Madigan

Friday, June 28th

Talking Stick Resort

Kathleen Madigan is a living legend in comedy, perhaps one of the most talented comics that never broke into the mainstream with a TV show or movie. She’s entertained on the stage for decades and plied her trade on late night shows like The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, and The Dave Letterman Show. Her working class- ethic and frank delivery is a perfect fit for the bars and clubs she plays as part of the Hot Dogs and Angels tour, and she’ll bring this hilarious take on life to the Talking Sticks Resort in June.

Weird Al Yankovic in Phoenix

“Weird Al” Yankovic

Saturday, August 30th

Comerica Theater

Weird Al is a legend when it comes to parody songs. He’s skewered the likes of Michael Jackson, Coolio, Pharrell Williams, Lady Gaga and Bob Dylan with the same sense of fun and silliness since the 1980s without letting up. He even won a Grammy for his recent Greatest Hits collection. Weird Al will be playing the Comerica Theater on August 30th as part of his nationwide Strings Attached tour.
