When winter breaks and the warm weather rolls in, Arizona residents know that it is now festival season. Time for great food, great music, and a chance to shake off some of the dust of the previous months and get out and about.

Luckily, there are no shortage of food festivals in the Copper State. Whether it’s sushi, french fries, or fine dining, there is a festival for you.

So grab the kids and your dogs, and check out the top food festivals in Arizona in the spring of 2019.

 

Scottsdale Culinary Festival

April 13th and 4th

Hosted by the Scottsdale League for the Arts, the Scottsdale Culinary Festival is all about bringing together great food, great music, and a great atmosphere. Food from vendors representing the diverse restaurants in the area will be in attendance, as will national and local bands. Food is sold separately from ticket prices, as is entry to the beer garden. This year, Berlin (of “Take My Breath Away” and Top Gun fame) are the headlining act.

FRIED: French Fry and Music Festival

April 20th

If you like french fries and fried food in general, then you can’t miss FRIED. Located near the Phoenix public library, this festival will include fried covered, slathered, chopped and chunked with any and every kind of topping, sauce, and condiment you can think of. And with a big selection of local rock, blues, and country bands, this is a great festival to hit before the summer heat kicks in.

Arizona Restaurant Week

The organizers of Arizona Restaurant Week claim that they want to position Arizona as a must-stop culinary destination in the U.S., and they are succeeding. Participating restaurants will offer special three-course “prix-fixe” dinners for lower price points to show off the food that they offer. Restaurants for all over the southern part of the state participate, and this is a great time to taste some food that you normally wouldn’t.

My Nana’s Best Tasting Salsa Challenge

Do you like salsa? Want as much salsa as you can eat? My Nana’s Best Tasting Salsa Challenge is an event benefiting the Arizona Hemophilia Association. The event will host a state-wide salsa tasting competition with a $1,500 cash prize. Cooks will prepare their salsa on-site, and ticket holders get unlimited chips and salsa samples—with VIP members getting a catered meal! The event will also host a 5K run, kids events, and drinks for the adults.

Sushi Festival

April 27th-28th

Arizona Horse Lovers Park

Rock the Fork presents the Arizona Sushi Festival at the Arizona Horse Lovers Park. This two-day festival will include some of the most delicious and creative sushi in the state, with culinary masters battling it out to determine who has the best sushi. Food requires separate purchase of half or full-meal portions (no free food samples). This event is all ages with plenty of activities for the kids, and well-behaved dogs are welcome too!
